GOVERNMENT

Politics is the outward expression of our spirituality, the quality of our consciousness. Government is the reflection of the collective consciousness of the governed. The quality of the collective consciousness determines the effectiveness of the government. To the degree that the collective consciousness of the people is coherent, harmonious, desires peace and justice for all, the government will accomplish those goals regardless of the form that government may take.

These principles hold true regardless of whether the government is a democracy, a monarchy, or an aristocracy. In every case the right people will emerge to manage the government so that material prosperity and spiritual development will become priorities. This is the immutable law of nature that governs government. The job of the governed is then to do what it can to raise the collective consciousness to the level at which it functions in a coherent, harmonious, peaceful, and just manner with respect and even love for one another. The job of the governed is to understand that the well being of the whole is the basis of their own well being, to develop their individual spirituality, and then to function in such a way that the well being of the whole becomes a reality.

The work of the government is to facilitate this result. The role of the people is to facilitate this result. The leaders of the government will be trusted stewards dedicated to the good of the whole people including the creation of a proper physical environment in which they live. The collective consciousness of the people will make it possible for the government to fulfill its role. Functions will be properly allocated between the public and private sector. Each will accomplish what is best accomplished by those sectors. In the same way individuals will each contribute what they are capable of contributing, and groups in their various institutional forms will contribute all that they can best accomplish for the benefit of the whole.
